Iodised, free-flowing, and packed for the shelf
Table Salt Grade
Fine white sodium chloride at ≥ 99.4% NaCl, iodised to the destination market's mandatory level and packed in retail cartons, sachets or private-label formats. Judged on grain uniformity, whiteness and flow — which is what a filling line and a shaker both depend on.
- Manufactured to: CODEX STAN 150-1985
- Manufactured to: Mandatory salt iodisation (Egypt)
Overview
Iodisation is mandatory for edible salt in Egypt and in most of the markets this grade ships to. Potassium iodate is the carrier rather than iodide because it survives heat and humidity far better, and the typical dosing band of 15 – 40 ppm is set to land inside the destination market's legal range at the point the consumer opens the pack — not at the point it leaves us.
Iodine is lost to heat, light and moisture over shelf life, so packaging is part of the specification rather than a decision taken after it. A moisture barrier and an opaque pack are what keep a compliant salt compliant to its expiry date; a salt dosed correctly and packed carelessly will fail a market test months later.
Caking is the retail failure mode. Moisture below 0.2%, an anti-caking agent and a tight grain distribution are what keep it pouring; a shaker that clogs comes back as a complaint about the brand, not about the weather it was stored in.
Retail is also a printing job. Cartons, sachets and private-label formats are produced to your artwork, with the iodine declaration, batch code and expiry date carried on pack in the form the destination market requires.
