For taste, odour, chlorine and organics

Granular Activated Carbon

Coconut-shell and coal-based granular activated carbon for dechlorination, organic removal and taste-and-odour control in potable and process water.

  • Manufactured to: EN 12915-1
  • Manufactured to: AWWA B604
  • Manufactured to: NSF/ANSI 61

Overview

Activated carbon works by adsorption, not straining — dissolved organics, chlorine and the compounds that cause taste and odour bind to the internal pore surface. Capacity is therefore governed by surface area and pore structure, which is what the iodine number on the certificate actually tells you.
