Who we are
One deposit, worked to a specification
Aqua Tree was founded on a straightforward observation: across Egypt and the wider region, filter beds were being loaded with sand that had never been graded to a specification. Material arrived from whichever quarry was closest, with a sieve analysis that described a different batch, and plant operators spent the next three years fighting turbidity breakthrough they had no way to explain.
We built the company around the opposite discipline. One deposit, worked consistently. A washing circuit that removes clay before it can armour the grain. Rotary drying to a moisture level that lets fine gradations screen cleanly. Multi-deck screens cut to the effective size and uniformity coefficient a customer actually specified — and a laboratory that verifies it before the truck is loaded.
The Wadi Natrun deposit is what makes this economically sensible. It is a naturally high-silica formation — typically above 99% SiO₂ — with low iron and negligible clay, sitting close to both Alexandria and Damietta for export. Material that would need three processing stages elsewhere needs one here.
Today we supply municipal water authorities, desalination and RO plants, EPC contractors, food and pharmaceutical manufacturers, glassworks, foundries and specialist flooring contractors — across eighteen countries. The common thread is not the industry. It is that every one of them has a specification, and needs a supplier who treats it as binding.
Why Aqua Tree
Why customers choose Aqua Tree
Six things that come up repeatedly when we ask why an order was placed with us instead of someone closer.
A COA per lot, not per product
The certificate that arrives with your shipment reports the sieve curve, effective size and uniformity coefficient measured on that batch. It is not a datasheet range reprinted with a new date.
The whole bed from one source
Anthracite, sand, garnet and the full four-layer gravel set, densities and gradations matched to stratify correctly after backwash. Mixing suppliers is where multimedia beds fail.
One deposit, worked consistently
Batch-to-batch variation is a geology problem before it is a processing problem. Working a single high-purity formation is why our numbers hold across a multi-year framework.
Two export ports within reach
Alexandria and Damietta are both inside a short haul of the plant, which shortens lead times and keeps inland freight from dominating the landed cost.
Documentation that clears first time
COA, MSDS, certificate of origin and the test methods behind each figure — issued in the format your engineer, your auditor or your customs broker actually needs.
Engineers answer the phone
Send a formation sieve analysis or a filter performance problem and you get a technical answer, not a price list. Most enquiries are resolved before a quotation is issued.
History
How we got here
Fifteen years from a single screening line to a certified multi-product plant.
2010
2010 — Founded at Wadi Natrun
Operations begin with a single washing and screening line serving the local construction market.
2013
2013 — First water treatment supply
Graded filter sand supplied to a municipal rapid gravity filter, shifting the business from bulk aggregate to specification-led media.
2015
2015 — In-house laboratory
Sieve analysis, acid solubility and specific gravity testing brought on site, enabling a certificate of analysis per production lot.
2017
2017 — Rotary drying commissioned
Drying capacity unlocks the fine gradations and kiln-dried decorative grades that wet screening cannot produce.
2019
2019 — ISO 9001 certification
Quality management system certified, opening tender pre-qualification with government and utility buyers.
2021
2021 — Export programme
Container and bulk export begins through Alexandria and Damietta, reaching Gulf, Levant and East African markets.
2023
2023 — Capacity expansion
Second screening line and expanded covered warehousing take annual capacity to 180,000 tonnes.
2025
2025 — Multimedia bed packages
Complete pre-matched bed schedules introduced, supplying anthracite, sand, garnet and gravel as one engineered package.
